for Federal Grants
Grants.gov allows organizations
to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities
from all Federal grant-making agencies. Grants.gov is THE single
access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal
grant-making agencies.
Catalog of Federal Domestic
Assistance
This on-line catalog gives you access
to a database of all Federal programs available to State and
local governments; federally-recognized Indian tribal governments;
Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic
pubic; quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations
and institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.
The Land and Water Conservation
Fund provides money to federal, state, and local governments to purchase land, water,
and wetlands, which become part of the national forests.
This Federal Highway
Administration site explains funding rules for a wide range of transportation
enhancement activities (such as provision for pedestrians and bicycles, acquisition of scenic
easements, landscaping, removal of outdoor advertising, and environmental mitigation to address
water pollution due to highway runoff). Project applicants are generally communities or other
forms of local government.
Grants and other awards are available from the National
Endowment for the Arts, which seeks to support works of artistic excellence, advance
learning in the arts, and strengthen the arts in communities throughout the United States.
Save America's Treasures
provides grant funding to protect America's threatened cultural treasures, including historic structures,
collections, works of art, and maps and journals that document and illuminate the history and culture of
the United States.
The Environmental
Protection Agency's
funding web page helps organizations locate federal support. This
site lists grants and loans that may be used at the local level
to support watershed projects; it also contains references to many
publications and web sites featuring funding and technical assistance.
PTT Grants are offered through
the NPS National Center for Preservation Technology and Training and are designed to advance the practice
of preservation and conservation.
The National Scenic Byways Discretionary
Grants program provides funding for byway-related projects each year. Use the online application to
apply for funding, or search the archive for previously funded projects.
